This program is very popular with over 650 players rebounding at the gyms around the city.  Boys and girls from the Kindergarten through 12th grade are encouraged to participate.

Recreational Basketball League:

Kindergarten (co-ed)

Boys: (individual)

1st Grade            2nd Grade            3rd Grade            4th Grade

5th Grade            6th Grade            7th through 9th Grade

Girls: (individual)

1st and 2nd Grade            3rd and 4th Grade           5th and 6th Grade

High School Division:

The high school division is a league for 10th-12th graders to still have the opportunity to have a fun recreational league and allow friends to join together and put a team in the league. Each team MUST have an adult as a coach and must be present at each practice and game.

Competitive Basketball League:

The Competitive Basketball League is currently available for 3rd through 6th grade divisions.  Team registration is ONLY available for this league.

All grade level divisions (3rd-6th grade) will play the entire season from November through February and will play on a 10 ft hoop and 28.5 inch.
All Competitive Basketball League Games are played in Junior High School(s) or High School Annex gym.  Most games will be on Tuesday and Saturdays, although additional games may be scheduled on Sunday afternoons or other weekday evenings depending on the division.  All schedules will be finalized prior to the start of the season.   All game days and locations are subject to change.

Youth Basketball Rules


Are you interested in becoming a coach for a Youth Sports team? The role of a youth sports coach can be very rewarding and challenging at times. Coaches play an important role in the lives of children by providing positive reinforcement of individual and team success.


ALL of our  leagues require volunteer coaches. All volunteer Head Coaches must be at least 18 years old.


Complete Online Coaching Application (must be submitted every season)

Once your application is submitted, you will be added to our candidate list.  During the registration period, we will determine on how many coaches are needed and it will be based off number of teams/players.

Attend Pre-Season Coaches Meeting

Tuesday, October 29th at 6pm in meeting room upstairs at the Veterans Park Community Center located at 508 North Lincoln St.

Height of Rim and Basketball Sizes (Recreational League):
Kindergarten through 2nd Grades – 8 foot hoop and 27.5 inch basketball
3rd and 4th Grades – 9 foot hoop and 28.5 inch basketball
5th and 6th Grades – 10 foot hoop and 28.5 inch basketball
7th through 12th Grades – 10 foot hoop and Official Size basketball (29.5 inch)

All Kindergarten through 2nd Grade (Boys & Girls) games will be played during the week and on Saturdays at the Veterans Park Community Center.

All 3rd through 12th Grade (Boys & Girls) games will be played during the week and on Saturdays (when available) at the High School Annex Gym, Cabot Freshman Academy (CFA), Junior High North (JHN), Junior High South (JHS) or  the Veterans Parks Community Center.

All practices for all grades Kindergarten through 9th Grade and HS Division will be held at the following locations:

There is a $2.00 gate fee per day for persons ages 13 to 59 for regular season games.
